We are a contemporary custom tattoo studio located next to The Barbican. We are London’s first female-only staffed studio.
Yes, we tattoo men too!
We are also one of only few studios in London to have been awarded 4/4 star rating by the Tattoo Hygiene Rating Scheme.
Our studio is designed and created by female tattoo artists. Tattoo stations are fitted with hygienic, purpose-built equipment. We operate a completely disposable system so that we have no need for scrub rooms or re-sterilised tools. All of this makes Velvet Underground Tattoo a reassuringly clean and comfortable environment to be inked.
Velvet Underground Tattoo embraces the individuality of both our clients and tattoo artists and is dedicated to providing bespoke tattooing by appointment.
Our artists and apprentices each have their unique style and create one-off pieces for every client. No copying, no flash, no rush. If we don't think we can achieve what you are asking us to do, we won't take it on.
Our mission is to provide a uniquely rewarding and safe tattooing experience from your initial consultation to the aftercare of your new tattoo.
